hi all been on here a few times but this forum lark is a nightmare...

i have a few questions and would apreciate anyones help but preferably someone who is suffering like me....

please no redirections to threads.

ABS light intermittently on/off no change in brakes doesnt matter whether it is raining/sunny,why?

Interior light fuse keeps blowing every few weeks, it has a 4A mini blade is this right?

Key Fob (InfraRed) intermittently stops working,Any reason why?

Alarm doesnt seem to work no audio, visual or shock sensor but doors lock and lights flash

when using key

bottom left corner of windscreen fogs up possibly heat from engine bay.

MPG has dropped from 18-15.7mpg (round town) 27-24/25 on 2 hr motorway trip why?

driving in general good but it dosnt like pulling away in drive it now goes to 2-3000 revs before pulling away

is there anyone in the croydon area who has vag com and willing to help.

can anyone help its a lovely motor and i really dont want to get rid but this is starting to get silly now

Please send message instead of thread reply this way i can list the faults and fixes and repost

thanks in advance

could be dry joint on one of the led connections - happens with monotonous regularity with our tv/video/dvd remotes

is this the actual Key itself

thanks

yes will have some (1 or 2) IrD leds in which given the mechanical wear a key gets can loosen the soldered joint - as a check you are sure that is the Ird system (2 domes inthe car front and back)

My mate had this on his car it turned out to be a dodgy connection in ther fuse box where the fuse plugged in?

cheeky idle....never mind

:25: I think I see a 2.8 Ghia, 1998.........it has fluffy dice hanging off the mirror and.....is not a '97 model on a '98 plate...which is a completely different kettle of fish.....

Probably dirty/faulty ABS sensor or connector thereto. There are 4 of them.... Try here sorry you don't want links...do you?

No...F53 is a 10A...oh that might explain why....
Key Fob (InfraRed) intermittently stops working,Any reason why?
flat (key fob) batteries
Alarm doesnt seem to work no audio, visual or shock sensor but doors lock and lights flash

when using key

the alarm doesn't have an audio, visual or shock sensor maybe thats why.. ;)
bottom left corner of windscreen fogs up possibly heat from engine bay.
check for damp passenger footwell, change pollen filter, turn on airconditioning....if it works that is. ;)

Maybe it needs servicing.....or it could be your MAF sensor oops!

I was wrong have dismantled the key and found no LED's this must mean it is radio remote i assume maybe there is something else wrong with the alarm then.....can you tell me where the alarm is actually situated to ensure there are no loose wires and could a faulty alarm cause the interior light fuse to blow

hi nik thanks for the advice greatly appreciated..i think you responded on an earlier post

i can only find one internal sensor rear window at top(drivers side)

If you don't have a little dome near the rear view mirror then is a radio remote, low battery as SK said can cause intermittent problems, probably worh changiong the battery (don't lose the pats chip). You may need to reprogram the remote after - click on the faq link in my signature and look for 'reprogramming the sharan remote' - same as gal.

we assume that the antenna for the remote is in the main control box (13) - pictured here on a lhd sharan (haven't got a gal diagram

umm only thing I know of here is the aerial on the window
