Davetheref Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Never had any problems yet with Paypal (maybe I'm just lucky) and I've been using it for 3 years. I sold a lot of computer kit and have even got my money back through them when I've had a dodgy seller. Quote
NikpV Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 You hear lots of stories about dodgy transactions/chargebacks with paypal but I have to say I've received over Quote

Bigjeeze Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It's the virtual monoply that I object to - I know you can used others but as they are owned by Ebay they are keen to lock you in. They and their service stink!! I used them quite happily for purchases until they decided I had spent enough and wanted me to give them access to my bank account (its more secure they say!!) I'll send a cheque or use nochex or credit card - but I ain't going through them anymore. In fact I have far better protection via my Credit card than anything they offer. I appreciate that I am a purchaser rather than a seller so maybe it's different. Quote
marinabrid Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 My Webshop also one in this shop its a draper one more expensive but its 12v powered motor suck the oil out for you, look in the tools section. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 My latest. Sorry about the size, but you may want to read it! http://www.bigtrucker.co.uk/gifs/paypal.gif Quote
NikpV Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Perhaps this thread should be called 'Easy Money extraction''Paypal method'  PS Is this one so wide because its in .GIF format - all the .JPG pictures I've posted since the upgrade display as a thumbnail which you need to click on to see full size Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 No it is so wide because it is hosted on my own server. Don't worry either Nik, as this is in the techie section as soon as the thread has gone cold I will be cleaning it up, as I have done with so many others lately..... Quote
NikpV Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I wasn't worried - I hasn't deviated much since it was all about buying from ebay - I just thought it was faintly amusing  Quote
jkspoff Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 Had you already sent the above item to the buyer, and therefore not receieved payment through PayPal ? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 No, we bought the item on eBay, paid by Pay-Pal and the seller never sent it. Pay-Pal debited my account, crdited her and she withdrew the money and did not send the goods. No money in her Pay-Pal account and you lose. Quote
NikpV Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 did she dispute it - said that she did send it ?? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 did she dispute it - said that she did send it ?? She did not reply to any of Pay-Pals emails. She has of course made one stupid mistake. All crims do. Quote
chromedome Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Found this http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=119542 A bit expensive but does brakes as well. Quote

Davetheref Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 "She did not reply to any of Pay-Pals emails. She has of course made one stupid mistake. All crims do." What mistake did she make then? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 She scammed me using her work's email address...... D'oh! Any "Sacked for abuse" info? They are investigating it now. The user of that address denys everything of course but she can't explain why she just ignored 3 emails from me, 3 from eBay before they froze her account and four from Pay-Pal. She should have reported them to her boss if it was not her and she did not. Quote
NikpV Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 So she had built up reasonable feedback selling from work. Can't understand why these folks waste good feedback for the odd scam, which rakes in very little money. Quote
NikpV Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Of Course you could always make your own - I use this kit, made from a TOYSRUS paddling pool pump, the tube from a VAX wet and dry vacuum cleaner and some different sized dreschel bottles I happened to have in the shed. I usually use a 2l bottle to do half year oil changes on my poor old escort diesel - does 2 miles to work and two miles home and nothing else!!!. Seen here doing an oil change after changing the MAF - unfortunately I can only balance a small bottle on the trim of the galaxy. Ps it really makes a lot of difference if the oil is warm  Quote

NikpV Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 after my own heart sorry I couldn't manage a whole one :16:  :16: I have toyed with the idea of Improving my design using a demi-john (you know the bottles used for fermenting wine) - much larger volume enables a more sustainable vacuum to be developed and you could mark the side in litres. Unfortunately I have never got around to it. I'm sure I must qualify for the 'Ivor_E_Tower' award for DIY here :16: :) :) Quote
