Guest galaxysam Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Hi allHave just fitted a towbar to my gal today, pretty easy fit, have fitted worst. Bought the proper plug in wiring kit for it from Tow Trust, was a breeze to fit, only thing is the warning on the dash for when you use the indicators does not work, any one had this problem ?? Out of interest as well while i was looking around behind the o/s/r trim I noticed what looks like a circular sensor with two wires going to it on the inside of the interior trim panel, there is no grill or anything to go with it, plus there is what look like a black plastic tank behind there, what are these all about ??? Vehicle is a 08/96 2.8 ghia Quote
Bigjeeze Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Can't help with the towbar but the sensor sounds like the parking sensor sounder- Do you have parking sensors? If you do this is probably the speaker/sounder for it. The tanl could be either an rear air condition unit if you have it or possiubly it's the bottom of the storage bin in the side panel. :( Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 The big black plastic tank is most likely the rear heater unit, the sensor? do you have parking sensors(after market) could be the buzzer for these? the indicator repeater has been the topic of several discussions :( IIRC you need to have it programmed into the system? or is that the cruise control indicator? :( Quote
Guest galaxysam Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Dont have rear parking sensors and didnt realise there was a rear heating unit !! will have to investigate this tomorrow, am going to ring Towequipe tomorrow that supplied it all and see what they say about the indicator light. Guest vr6galaxy Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Do you have air con or climate control? if AC the you should have a round button with a picture of a Galaxy filled with wavey lines above the heated front/rear screen button, push this so it lights ups :( now climb into the rear passenger side seat, look up at the roof and you should see a couple of control knobs? ones for temp control the others fan speed, have fun as for the CC version someone else will be along later to describe the how to on that :( Quote
bigdaddy Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I am sure that on previous posts you need vag-com to activate the dash indicator Quote
Rallim Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 For the mk2 at least you do need VAG-COM to enable the symbol. I have done it to my 2001 TDi, so I don't know the applicability to the 2.8. Here is the topic with the info... hope its of some use Gordon Quote
