Guest carliterature Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Hi all I mentioned on a recent post that the ABS light on our Galaxy comes on intermittently: as an example, went to Silverstone for the GP on Saturday and the ABS light was on almost all the time there. On the return trip, it only appeared when I started the car! Any suggestions. I've read other posts where it's on all the time but not on and off like this. Tonight, when my wife was putting the car on the drive, the airbag light refused to go off. No seats have been removed and it's not had a ding of any sort so really confused here too. Read on other posts about a clock switch - what is it? :) Really hacked off with both of these issues - fear I'll be shelling out again soon... Could they be fuse related (this is me being cheap!!) Thanks carliterature Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Clock spring, not switch - it looks a bit like a clock spring you see, it's a sort of spirally would piece of wire carrying electricity from the steering column surround to the wheel itself, so that there is electricity in the wheel no matter how it is turned from full lock one side, to full lock the other side. Unfortunately these items wear out occasionally, and need to be replaced. Quote
sledgeweazel Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 HI I had the same problem on the ABS light, and it turned out to be a loose earth below air filter box, hope this helps Quote
Guest carliterature Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Car has been into the local (Lincoln) Ford dealer today for diagnosis. That cost Quote
