Busman Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 I know this topic has been covered, but to save time I have only Two keys .One with remote came apart when getting into car, did put it together again but took about a minute so when I tryed to start engine would not do so . It still locks & unlocks doors.Got hold of spare key which thankfully starts engine so tried to recode to no avail,as manual says you have to have 2 spare keys, is this correct? and what do I do now? NikpV Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) there is no CODE whch allows the engine to run - it is highly likely that you have lost the pats chip when the key came apart (my remote key comes apart but the batteris dont fall out andf so th remote CL code does not get 'lost') this is what yopu are looking for Edited March 1, 2008 by NikpV Quote

NikpV Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 you said that i opened the doors - was that on the remote cl or putting the key in the door? the code should still be valid if the batteries didnt come oout - if you need to recode the remote (its easy) see here to recode the remote central locking - this has nothing to do with the car running though Quote
