Guest HairyPlateEater Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Don't know if this has already been posted (couldn't find anything when searched) but heres a good link to the new regulations on Child Seats coming in on September 18th. Child Seat Laws What are everyone's views on this? Personally I think it makes sense .... you can't put a price on safety on the roads and this will definately make it safer for smaller kids just using an adult seat belt at present. I'm a little bit miffed though that we got rid of all out booster seats last year at a car boot sale, and now I need to buy 2 back again!! lol You have to question the enforcability though. The amount of idiots you see still driving with the kids unrestrained AT ALL, especially in the front seat, astounds me. Quote
mumof4 Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 To me the laws are common sense....all my kids are tall for their age and my nearly 3 and nearly 5 yr old are too tall for seats appropiate to their age and have to sit on booster seats. My 9 yr old is already 140cm tall so is too tall for booster seat.My 7 yr old is just under 135cm...and he i feel is too tall for a booster seat. NikpV Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 good idea - still cringe when I see baby/child on mums knee in the front of the white van - or kids preparing to be unguided missiles aimed at their parents climbing around the rear seats :( B) Quote
