HELP THANKS 4 HELP PROBLEM IS A PLASTIC BEND ON UINT Quote
seatkid Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Sounds as if youv'e lost the vacuum to the servo, this also operates the ICV (Idle control valve). Check all the vacuum pipework to see if a pipe has come adrift or has split. You probably still have brakes, but require 10x+ effort to operate. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I would agree with Seat Kid. Your vacuum comes from the inlet side somewhere after the MAF. If the pipe had come off or split then un-metered air will enter the inlet pipework and the engine will stall at idle as the fuel/air mixture will be too lean Quote
Big Jim's Lad Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 This happened on my mondeo, when a hole appeared in my hose from inlet manifold to brake servo. Brakes seem like they have gone but are just unfeasibly hard to press. A new hose should be about Quote
