Guest HairyPlateEater Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Hi Oscar, What car does this relate to? Might be an idea (and helpful to others) if you put your exact car details in your signature so it is visible on every post. ;) Many thanks Quote

Guest 3.5bullet Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 It might be the rectifier pack for the blower motor _ i had that on my MK! rectifier pack? resistor pack :D the AC wont kick in unless the fan works! but why the AC doesnt work when the fan does kick in? this problem has been reported before elsewhere on the forum but I cant remember the outcome or if there was a cure? seatkid Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Its the way its wired. I think the a/c interlock takes the feed off the last resistor which is speed 1. When you replace the faulty resistor pack, the a/c should work. Quote

Guest 3.5bullet Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 hit the search engine, there are pictures of the resistor pack somewhere? but if you cant wait? drop the lower glovebox look to the right hand side of the eater unit and there it is, it's either a green, grey or red plastic/alloy block bolted to the heater unit caseing Quote

Dave-G Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Oscar - you have not said if its a Zetec or Ghia model (with climate control display) I had a dry joint on my last Zetec model, behind the ventilation controls panel. This would be no lights and all switches inoperative in that panel till I went over a bump! Removing the panel and flexing the loom did the trick. Quote
