  4. This might help > Taken from https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=70444 If the Electronic Parking Brake is not functioning it can be released manually. ! Operate the emergency release only if the vehicle is secured against rolling away. Open the upper level of the centre console and then raise the second level of the console. Hook up the floor of the centre console with a screw driver. Unclip the Release ?T? handle from its resting place on the floor of the vehicle. Pull the ?T? handle upwards until a noise is heard. The parking brake is now rele
  5. If i remember correctly this can be down to needing a shim in the gearbox somewhere, don't have the details to hand to give further info, but you should be able to find info on here. Would help to confirm what year and engine the Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambara your dealing with though. The other thing that could be a problem is the selector, again would help to confirm what your dealing with though.

  11. EPB brakes did not release when I started one morning at home. Fuse is OK. Procedure to release EPB for service has no effect so both rear wheels still locked tight. How can I release brakes manually so that I can move car and possibly drive it to my local garage? Alternatively get it towed in. Is it possible to force the pads away from wheel manually and drive car? Or remove whole rear brake assembly both rides and at least move the car so that it can be towed?
  12. You can remove the handle quite easily in most cases. You need to open the door first, locate the single bolt that goes into the end of the handle and remove it (its a Torx bolt and you can see it looking at the edge of the door when its open). Then pulling the outer handle towards the hinge end of the door to release it (might need the key to get it to release), pull it outwards then the other way to finish extracting it. At some point in that process, you need the key to release it though. I think you could probabbly force it if you were to replace the paddle afterwards The only time th

  16. Although this is about the ABS light coming on and how to fix this problem, I thought I would offer some back ground to this problem. Model ford galaxy Gira 2002 2.3 cc I have noticed that my battery light on the dash only goes off over 2000 rpm, which most likely needs to be replaced. My question is would the alternative not charging cause a fault with the ABS light coming on. Cheers Rick

  18. Thanks for the comments on this issue. I rocked the car back and forth, no joy. I checked to see if both brake lights did not work, they didn`t work so have ordered a new brake light switch. I will find out later if it works.

  20. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and have not seen a section to introduced my self so here I come... New to the Galaxy. Bought mine some 10 days ago 2006 MK2 TDI 130. Had many VW TDIs and SDIs before I took my chances on a fairly Tatty Cat D one with 130k that pulls like a train and had good bones. Did the cambelt and replace the exhaust, Mote' and is up an running. For now I spent £1250. Now... the door loom was a mess. The central lock was working but had no speaker, no window and no mirror... The the central lock stopped working. I read quite a bit here and there
  21. Hi all thinking of getting a 2020 galaxy how good is the dab reception, does it keep dropping out? Also is there a great difference between the 150/190 bhp engines thanks. Lawrep
  22. You might be best to try and get the door unlocking from the key. I'd guess its engaged the deadlock. Try working some wd40 or Gt85 or similar into the keyhole to see if you can get it moving again. Otherwise you might have to try and force the door open somehow - possibly the easiest way to do that would be to try and gain access through the door handle (drill out the barrel and replace it afterwards being one way to do that). You might have more luck with the battery disconnected trying the key as well. Once you get your way in there, you need to repair the wiring pro
  23. I was wondering if you could give me advice on my problem please, the drivers door has stopped working, the electric windows do not work, it does not open, the inside catch does not work, the key does not turn and the Galaxy does not lock, you can hear the motors locking the car but then it unlocks again immediately. Please help if you can as I can't open door to investigate the wiring. Thank you, James

  25. Really suggest you get hold of A vcds Lead. Even the cheap ones iff ebay will work with the free vcds Lite version. You really need to know what its complaining about to know where to go with it. Dodgy wire sounds a bit vague, maybe they haven't found it all?

  27. Hello, I have a set of geniune ford front brake discs for my long gone MKII Galaxy that I never got round to fitting. I also have two brand new sets of Contoured mud flaps for MKII Galaxy that I also never got round to fitting, (2 packets of 2 so 4 mud flaps in total). These were to fit a 1.9 diesel 2004 MK 2 Galaxy and I've uploaded a pic of the FINIS numbers for you to check if they will fit. To heavy to post so buyer would have to collect from South Ockendon in Essex. Brake Discs - £25 Mud Flaps - £25 for both sets Message me if you are interested. T
  28. Hey folks, this thread helped out a fair bit ( ) but i still have probs. I thought to post in there instead of creating a new so any advice that comes for my prob may help others in this area but i see my post didn't appear on front page so to catch as many people in the know i made new thread. So i got a replacement 55 plate 2.3 Galaxy that 'just needed a drivers side abs sensor for the MOT, ring was replaced', got in there and replaced the sensor, saw the ring was loose(wrong type fitted/streched on fitting) and replaced that too. ABS light still on. Replaced sensor on passenger side
